Dedication to my mommy

Monday, May 21, 2012 0 Comments
Dear Mommy,

I don't write poetry so I found these too ditties for you. I hope you enjoy. Yea I know Mother's day was like 2 weeks ago. But its the thought that counts right?? Love you mom. thanks for everything you do.

For the Mom Who Does Everything
Mom, I know you do the dishes
And I know you cook the food
I know you scrub down all the floors
Even when you're in a bad mood.

And every night you walk the dog
While I'm watching all my shows
On Thursday's you take out the trash
And every spring you wash the windows.

Mom, I know you're sad I'll go someday
And leave you all alone
But right now I'm only 36
So what other place could I call home?

Things My Mother Taught Me

My Mother taught me LOGIC..."If you fall off that swing and break your neck, you can't go to the store with me."
My Mother taught me MEDICINE..."If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they're going to freeze that way."
My Mother taught me TO THINK AHEAD..."If you don't pass your spelling test, you'll never get a good job!"
My Mother taught me ESP..."Put your sweater on; don't you think that I know when you're cold?"
My Mother taught me TO MEET A CHALLENGE..."What were you thinking? Answer me when I talk to you...Don't talk back to me!"
My Mother taught me HUMOR..."When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."
My Mother taught me how to BECOME AN ADULT..."If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up.
My mother taught me ABOUT SEX..."How do you think you got here?"
My mother taught me about GENETICS..."You are just like your father!"
My mother taught me about my ROOTS..."Do you think you were born in a barn?"
My mother taught me about the WISDOM of AGE..."When you get to be my age, you will understand."
My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION..."Just wait until your father gets home."
My mother taught me about RECEIVING..."You are going to get it when we get home."
And, my all-time favorite - JUSTICE..."One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like YOU -- then you'll see what it's like."

and the story goes…

In the beginning:
And it came to pass:
Once upon a time:
However you want to start the story, I have been asked by several to tell the story of how we met & fell in love. So here it goes…
I felt very strongly about making a move to the Spanish congregation at church and decided to make the move over. I noticed Pacer right away cause he was the only other white person in the Spanish Branch, but I wasn't looking for a relationship so I didn't pay him much attention. Sometime in December we met officially and my parents saw him for the first time at Christmas when he and his mother wore really horrible christmas sweaters to church. My mom said that if he can wear such a ridiculous thing to church that he would be a perfect fit in our family. (before he and I were he and I)
We ran into each other at Walmart on New Year's and I reminded him of the New Years dance at the Branch. So we really started talking on New Years day at the dance.
January 2nd, 2012 he asked me out on facebook… hehe it was so cute I was super excited cause I hadn't been on a "date" in 5 years. It was a big deal. So he asked me to go swimming with him and then to do dinner. Now I haven't been in a swimsuit in ages so I was terrified. I had to go and shave. We got to the pool and it was closed (darn!!!) So I hadn't done my make up or anything. We went on to eat dinner at Antonio's Italian restaurant. The food was yummy and we chatted for a long time. We both had decided that we were only interested in having a friendship and nothing more. We hung out probably every weekend, chatted on the phone, facebook and texted nearly everyday.

I think it was inevitable…
So the falling in love part happened quickly we had been forming a really good friendship and we were friends well before he kissed me…
